People often inquire about applying mindfulness at work, and I've found two practices particularly useful: mindful listening and mindful speaking.
Mindful listening involves attentively observing our BETA (Body sensations, Emotions, Thoughts, Action impulses) and staying present. If we can’t center ourselves, how can we authentically listen to others?
Mindful speaking follows three principles:
-If unsure, refrain from speaking.
-If your words lack value, withhold them.
-If the timing isn’t right, hold back.
