Let your child carry their own monkeys

One of the lessons I've learned as a parent is the importance of not carrying the monkey for your child.

These "monkeys" represent tasks and responsibilities that belong to them, ranging from small duties like waking up for school to major decisions like choosing a school.

When we shoulder these responsibilities for our children, they lose the opportunity to learn and grow in decision-making and accountability.

Furthermore, it can become burdensome for us as parents, as these monkeys only grow heavier over time.

So, when people ask me for parenting tips, I always say: “Let your child carry their own monkeys!”
